To share knowledge and insights into errors and contradictions in the christian bible. This site serves as an introduction to further study for all interested in taking a close and critical look at something that for centuries was not allowed to be questioned. Some of the answers and the questions will surprise you.

I know you are, but what am I?

If you call someone a name in anger, you risk burning in hell
- Matt 5:22

Jesus angrily calls the Pharisees "Blind fools"
(i.e. he hypocritically curses them)
- Matt 23:17

Ouch! Watch for thorns. Uh, nevermind...

just leave em there, but bring them with youDisciples being sent out and not to wear sandals
- Matt 10:9,10

Disciples being sent out to wear sandals
- Mark 6:8,9

Anyone lose a disciple?

Jesus claims he has lost none of the disciples except one
- John 17:12

Yet later, he says that none of the disciples were lost
- John 18:9

Only the true messiah denies his divinity...

Jesus refuses to give signs of divinity
- Matt 12:38,39, Mark 8:12, Luke 11:29

But then jesus gives signs of his divinity
- John 3:2, 20:30, Acts 2:22, Luke 11:29

Can't make up his mind about his purpose

Jesus said he came not to judge
- John 8:15, 12:47

Yet, judging seems to be his main job
- John 5:22, 27, 9:39, 2 Corinthians 5:10

Then he tries to fob it off with a "that's not my job" attitude and tells everyone his dad is supposed to do it(!)

Man, even dishwashers get fired for saying stupid shit like that.

- John 12:48

No, woman no cry

old womanHe ignored a woman pleading for his help: only after she asked him three times did he condescend to help
- Matt 15:22-28

More sloppy editing?

Jesus refers to situations where women divorce their husbands
- Mark l0:ll-l2

According to Jewish law, a woman could not initiate a divorce.

Ignorance is bliss... apparently

He was ignorant of the scriptures he quoted
-or at best, quoted an unreliable Greek translation of the original Hebrew

...much of which wasn't even complete until long after jesus supposedly died.
Hmmmm, how could (and why would) a contemporary Jew do that?
nobody messes wid da jesus
for example:
Jesus refers to david eating the consecrated bread in the time of abithar
- Mark 2:25,26

David ate the consecrated bread in the time of ahimelech
- 1 Sam 21:1-6

The biggest contradiction in the bible?

The law/commandments are to remain forever
- Matt 5:17-19, Luke 16:17

The law has ended
- Romans 7:4, Eph 2:15, Col 2:14

In my opinion, this may be the biggest fault in the entire bible.

To my reasoning, if we say that Matt and Luke are true, all that Old Testament bullshit stands (such as being stoned to death for working on Sunday, Reverend- oh yeah! you are, uh, circumsized aren't you? and so on. Just read the OT, it'll kill ya!... that is unless Paul is right, in which case you can ignore it).

But if the old testament views are no longer valid, the very prophecies that christians claim validate the messiah risk being thrown out with the bathwater.
Paradoxical ain't it?

Do as I say, not as I do...er, something like that anyway

Jesus instructed his disciples not to go anywhere near Gentiles or Samaritans, but to go to "the lost sheep of the house of Israel"
- Matt l0:5-6

Jesus wanted to enter Samaria, but was prevented from doing so by the Samaritans (so much for omnipotence)
- Luke 9:52

Jesus supposedly even heals a Samaritan
- Luke l7:ll-l6

Jesus' mission to the Samaritans goes even further when jesus goes into Samaria where many are converted
- John 4:4,5, 39-42
