To share knowledge and insights into errors and contradictions in the christian bible. This site serves as an introduction to further study for all interested in taking a close and critical look at something that for centuries was not allowed to be questioned. Some of the answers and the questions will surprise you.

"I'll bear your burden, brother..."

Simon of Cyrene carries jesus' cross
- Matt 27:32

Jesus carries his own cross, thank you very much
- John 19:17,18

Quick and speedy trial

Jesus' trial before the Sanhedrin was at night and in morning he was taken to Pilate
- Matt 26:57-68, 27:1-2

Both jesus' trial before the Sanhedrin and being taken to Pilate were in the morning
- Luke 22:66-71, 23:1

Peter's in denial

Peter is warned he will deny jesus after the last supper and after having left the upper room
- Matt 26:20-34, Mark 14:17-30

Peter is warned he will deny jesus during the last supper before leaving the upper room
- Luke 22:33-39, John 13:37-38, 18:1

Last meal request?

The synoptics make it clear that the last supper was the Passover meal
- Matt 26:17-21, Mark 14:16, Luke 22:13

The Passover was on the day after jesus was crucified
- John 19:31, Matt 27:62

Matthew's account contradicts itself since it has both days (supper & post crucifixion) as being the first day of passover.
Go figure

Gee, everybody else thinks she's such a saint

He treated his mother with contempt
- John 2:4

Remember this is an offense punishable by stoning according to the old law (which may or may not still be in effect)

He refuses to acknowledge his own family
- Matt 12:46-50, Mark 3:32-35

Hate your family

family fight for jesusHe taught people to hate their families in order to get into heaven
- Luke 14:26

The ancient Greek used here literally translates to "active ill-will" or "persecuting spirit"

He also encouraged people to desert their families
- Matt 19:29, Mark 10:29, Luke 18:28-30

Family most important? Nope.

Jesus' purpose on earth was to break up families
- Matt 10:34-35, Luke 12:51-53

Get it?! - No? Good.

He deliberately taught in a way so people would not understand him (and therefore be saved from burning in eternal hellfire)
- Mark 4:9-12

Still jealous and petty after all these years

He had contempt for other religions and their adherents
- Matt 12:30, 23:2-33, John 8:44, 55

Jealousy is seen as such a negative emotion in people, why tolerate it in a supposedly perfect god?

Advice from jesus- you make the call

Forgive those who sin against you
- Matt 6:14

Curse any city that doesn't welcome you
- Matt 10:14-15

...um, sir? I thought you said we weren't supposed to curse anyone lest we burn in hell?

Oh, yeah. I did say that.
- Matt 5:22
