God promises that if his people "pray and seek my face, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
- 2 Chron 7:14

However, saul inquired of god many times, but god did not answer him
- 1 Sam 28:6

To cover the tracks of this one, we discover later that it was saul's fault all along!

Apparently, saul died because he did not inquire of god- go figure!
