Solomon’s reign

The years from when the Hebrews left Egypt to david’s reign go as follows:
  40 (Wilderness)
450 (Judges)
+ 40 (saul)
= 530 years
- Acts 13:16-22

David reigned 40 years and solomon became king when david died. So:
530 (from above)
+ 40 (david’s reign)
= 570 years.
- 1 Chron 29:27

Yet, solomon’s 4th year of rule (when he began the temple building) was 480 years after the Hebrews left Egypt
- 1 Kings 6:1

That is, he began his rule 476 years (480 minus 4) after the Hebrews left
- not 570 years.

Splitting hairs? Only if you consider a discrepancy of 94 years to be trivial -in a book that’s supposed to hold the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

Terah was 70 when abraham was born. Abraham was 75 when he left Haran
- Gen 11:26

– Let’s do the math:

He lived 70 years (age at abraham’s birth)
+ 75 years (abraham’s age when he left Haran)
=145 years that terah lived

Terah was dead when abraham left Haran according to
- Acts 7:4

Thanks for bearing with me so far. Now,
This means he could not have been more than 145 when he died.

Compare this to the “fact” that he lived a generous 205 years back in
- Gen 11:32
